Hello Reader,
Q: How do you unsuccessfully attempt to adapt your metabolism?
A: Do more & more HIT/Jogging/Fitness Classes + eat less.
Outcomes: hungry, bored, wiped out, lost muscle mass + strength. Worst case scenario: less
What behavior is actually effective at speeding up your metabolism?
1. Increasing your Energy Flux will increase your RMR. Eating and burning plenty of calories is extremely effective compared to eating very little and burning very few calories. Increase your burn by simply moving a little bit more: take walks, do your own grocery trips, pull those weeds you've been ignoring, add a form of physical play to your life, etc.
2. Work up to eating the right amount of protein for your body. The Thermic Effect of digesting protein takes a lot more energy compared to digesting carbs & fat (20-30% vs. 5-10% & 2-3%).
3. Keep investing in building more muscle. It takes more energy to fuel and carry around more muscle, increasing your RMR and NEAT.
